Sr. Electrical Engineer
Design engineer for military training systems.
  • Hired to develop products for Army's second generation live fire targetry, now utilized all over the U.S.
  • Served as lead Electrical Engineer for $100 million Army EST-II system for virtual firearms training.
  • Worked on firing range communications systems and protocols (RF and wired) as well as large (over 2000 lb) moving artillery targets with DC propulsion systems, significantly enhancing existing product.
  • Design and code embedded software with FreeRTOS based on NXP and FreeScale ARM processors.

Senior Electrical Engineer – President and Owner
Provided products and services, part time, on a consulting basis, with acknowledgment and encouragement from full-time employer, Baker Audio Telecom, Inc. Company also produced its own line of Watchdog timer products as well as providing embedded systems design services. Company's PC Watchdog products have been used for satellite control, train control, medical device and many other systems including the Space Station where PCs have to be running 24 hours a day unattended.
  • Provided designs for multiple clients using micro controller technology (primarily Freescale HC12, S08 and ColdFire as well as T.I., Microchip, Atmel and others). Designs included communications, telecom, industrial and general-purpose interface. Some of these used real timer operating systems, primarily uC-OS.
  • Completed designs with the tasks including schematic design, PCB layout, software design, coding and interfacing with contract manufacturers.
  • Designed a pipe organ control system for installations exceeding 10,000 pipes in some cases. These systems are installed on a global basis. These systems saved time and money by replacing massive cabling with simple fiber-optic links.

Senior Electrical Engineer
Hired to work with software group to develop Ethernet based audio paging system.
  • Executed projects including PC based networked audio paging systems for airports using 10 Meg Fiber Ethernet for transport medium. First client was Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport and was sold to at least 20 other airports without need of revision.
  • Designed PC based telephony system with an emphasis on E911 emergency hardware, providing ability to instantly identify name, address and phone number of caller and substantially expedite process. Received joint patent for an off-line backup device for an E911 center in case of power loss that enabled representatives to answers calls even when the main system was inoperable. Backup system was microprocessor based using uC-OS real time operating system.
  • Provided complete designs with tasks including schematic design, PCB layout, software design, coding and interfacing with contract manufacturers.
